Hot-dip Galvanizing and Paint

An important quality feature of all HessAmerica steel poles and brackets is seldom seen and often overlooked. That is, all steel poles and brackets are hot-dip-galvanized prior to being painted. This is not typical and it speaks to the high quality standards of Hess products. This method of corrosion protection can be a great selling tool when specifying HessAmerica products due to the long-term corrosion protection it provides.
In this month’s newsletter, we announce the addition of the Product Bulletin section on the HessAmerica website with our first topic addressing the benefits of hot-dip galvanizing combined with painting. Please click on the link for more detailed information.

Project of the Month:
Fairlawn High School

The project of the month is Fairlawn High School in New Jersey. Specified by architects Jim Sanders and Kim Vierheilig of Lan Architects and Engineers, the project includes both lighting and site amenities from Hess in key outdoor areas around the campus.
Cento 900 bollards illuminate the sidewalks throughout the high school complex, while Sidus E benches with triple plank European Ash slats are located at various entrances to the buildings. In the central courtyard, additional Sidus E benches provide casual seating in the congregation area with illumination provided by Montego 660 pole mounted luminaires.
Special thanks go to Allen Artman at Liberty Lighting for his hard work and photographs on this project.

Enhanced Website Search Function

In response to requests from the field, we have enhanced the product search function to now include the ability to search by catalog prefix. Previously, the user could only search by product name. The example below shows the search sequence for model prefix CC450, which locates the Canto 450 pole and wall mounted products. This can be an extremely useful tool, particularly for inside sales people who often have to work with fixture schedules that list only the catalog number in the description.
