This month’s featured project is Victory Park, a vibrant, mixed-use area located in the heart of Dallas. This Ross Perot, Jr. development is directly adjacent to the America Airlines Arena and features a luxury hotel and condominiums as well as upscale retail shops and restaurants along the street.

SWA-Dallas, the landscape architect, selected the Faro Q for its unobtrusive, indirect lighting and the prominent “V” shape as it replicates the Victory Park logo (seen in the illuminated sign the background).

A combination of Faro Q’s and Faro AR’s were used to illuminate the area as varying illumination levels were required. Some AR’s actually employed three-lamp optics. Building mounted Varello’s and Punto litter receptacles were also used to complete the design.

November and December are special times at the Biltmore Estate. Beginning November 3, the house is decorated for Christmas and has special Candlelight Christmas Evenings. In their words, you can “enjoy the magic of the Biltmore House filled with candlelight, blazing fireplaces, and live holiday musical performances as America’s largest home is bedecked in extraordinary holiday décor”.

With that in mind, it is an excellent time to schedule a visit to the Hess Gallery and a side trip to the Biltmore. There are a few time slots available to schedule specifier visits to the Gallery. The Sierra product family has been expanded to include single color and color-changing RGB LED sources suitable for a full range of outdoor entertainment, hospitality, and commercial venues. The series provides designers with the opportunity to introduce the visual excitement of colored illumination into outdoor spaces for accenting, brand identification, and zonal definition.

Columns are 6”, 8”, and 10” in diameter and scaled appropriately in 8’, 10’, 13’, and 21’ heights. The series also includes a complementary bollard. Models are available with diagonal or horizontal cut at the transition from the shaft to the lens. Wall mounted versions of the Sierra 3200 and 4000 model are also available.

LED drivers include color sequencing and DMX512 control capability. Single color LEDs include blue, royal blue, green, and red.
